Original 1908 Olympics ''Steward'' badge from the fourth modern Olympic games. Originally scheduled to be held in Rome, the games were moved from Italy to England after the disastrous Mt. Vesuvius eruption. The games were the longest in modern Olympics history, lasting an amazing total of 187 days. Badge is fashioned in silvered bronze and blue enamel by ''Vaughtons of Birmingham'' and features the helmeted head of Athena facing a laurel branch. Upon the blue enamel reads, ''Olympic Games / London 1908 / Steward''. Badge is fitted like a brooch and measures 2.25''. Overall in very good condition.
