Glasgow Celtics legend George Connelly Scottish League Cup final runners-up medal. Hibernian defeated Celtics 2-1 during the match played at Hampden Park in December of 1972. 9 carat gold and enamel 1972-73 medal is inscribed to front ''Scottish Football League'' and to verso, ''League Cup / Season 1972-73 / Runner-Up''. Verso additionally has small markers to bottom, including a list of numbers and the hallmark ''JWB'' for James William Benson. With provenance from an auction conducted by David Convery, the soccer memorabilia expert for Christie's; this was lot 35 of the auction in Hampden Park in Glasgow on 28 November 2007. Medal measures 1'' in diameter with looped small ring to hang it for display. Near fine condition.
