Confederate General Robert E. Lee signed CDV photo, with Mathew Brady backstamp on verso. Image was captured by Brady in early 1866, with this view much rarer than the more commonly seen photo from the same sitting, showing Lee's head shifted further right. Signed in black fountain pen, ''RE Lee''. CDV measures approximately 2.375'' x 3.875'', with irregularly trimmed lower edge. Light foxing, and buckling to photo. Overall very good condition.
