John Steinbeck typed letter signed in type, dated 27 August 1959 to his typist Mary Morgan. Writing on his personalized stationery from Bruton, Somerset, United Kingdom, letter reads in part, ''...Our time grows shorter. We plan to go home the middle of October...I hope you wtill [sic] want to come back to work for me in the fall. I'm going to need your neat typing and to get back on the coffee routine on the fourth floor. My work isn't any good but maybe it will be. Also next year we are going to be pretty deeply involved in the election and that should be fun. You can be my political expert and you aren't any more ignorant than some of our other experts. But we will have fun one way or another...Have to go now. We're going to Glastonbury to watch them dig up a thirteenth century bishop. That's fun in this country...love / jn''.
