Large 20'' x 16'' display twice-signed by astronaut Joe Allen, showing Allen and Dale Gardner space walking during Space Shuttle Discovery STS-51A. Allen not only signs the photo next to his image, but also signs and handwrites on the presentation mat, ''Jim - you never said space flight would be easy, but this is ridiculous! / with every best wish from your friend and NASA colleague, / Joe Allen'', adding ''WE DELIVER - AND PICKUP'', referencing him retrieving the Palapa and Westar communication satellite during the space walk. Allen inscribes the photo to James Fanseen, NASA's political liaison. Chromogenic photo measures 14'' x 11'' on 20'' x 16'' mat, with entire presentation framed to a size of 20.5'' x 16.5''. Faint foxing to mat, overall in very good condition.
