Benito Mussolini handwritten envelope, postmarked 18 June 1921 and penned on ''Il Popolo d'Italia'' stationery with ''Fondatore [Founder]: Benito Mussolini'' printed underneath. The year of 1921 was a pivotal one for Mussolini; later this year he founded the National Fascist Party and the next year, in 1922, Mussolini mobilized his Blackshirts for the March on Rome, causing King Victor Emmanuel III to buckle in fear and make him Prime Minister. All during this time ''Il Popoli d'Italia'' served as the mouthpiece for the fascist party until its collapse in 1945. Envelope measures 6'' x 4.625''. Partial split at top from opening, overall very good condition.
