Sheriff Patrick Floyd Garrett signed and initialed stock certificate from The Alabama Gold and Copper Mining Company, based out of Jarilla, New Mexico. Garrett is best remembered as the Sheriff of Lincoln County, New Mexico Territory who mortally shot notorious outlaw Billy the Kid, one of the Regulators in the Lincoln County War. Dated 12 December 1899, Garrett signs as Secretary of the company, ''P.F. Garrett'' and also initials a revenue stamp on verso, ''P.F.G.''.
