Charles Guiteau cabinet card albumen photograph, taken by photographer C.M. Bell only two days after Guiteau assassinated President James Garfield. With Bell's statement on verso stating that the photograph was taken personally by him on 4 July 1881 in the jail where Guiteau was housed. Guiteau would be tried later that year and ultimately hanged for his crime. Albumen photo is mounted on the cabinet card which measures 4.25'' x 6.5''. A few surface impressions and minor soiling, overall very good condition.
