Countersigned by Jonathan Trumbull Jr. as Washington's aide-de-camp. Partially printed document furloughs Corporal Abnor Wartrons from the 7th Connecticut Regiment until the official Treaty of Peace is ratified. Five months later he would fully disband his Army, his reputation as hero of the Continental Army firmly established. Document measures 8.25'' x 13.75''. With archival tape repair and mounting remnants to verso. Light dampstaining, fold through signature, and small areas of paper loss along folds. Very good condition.
