Guestbook from the steamship T.S. Maid of Orleans, signed by Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Orson Welles and more than 400 others. Bogart and Bacall both sign on 14 April 1951 in blue ballpoint, each adding ''Hollywood'' as their address. Welles signs several pages later, on 1 December 1953 in black fountain pen. The Maid of Orleans was a cross-channel ship that ferried wealthy passengers from England to France, with the visitor's book reading like a who's who of notables from 1949-1956, such as the signature of Gustaf VI Adolf on 3 November 1953 who writes ''King of Sweden'' for his address. Leather bound guestbook measures 9'' x 7'' with 41 pages filled out. First page loose and front hinge starting, overall very good condition.
