Hawaiian King Kamehameha III signed royal patent from 13 July 1853, granting land in Oahu, Hawaii and featuring a hand-drawn map of the parcel. Written in Hawaiian, patent #1385 has intact red wax Hawaiian seal, next to which the King signs ''Kamehameha''. Countersigned by Keoni Ana as Prime Minister Kuhina Nui. King Kamehameha III was the longest serving monarch of Hawaii and deftly guided his country to democratically elected governance while maintaining its sovereignty. Bifolium document measures 7.75'' x 12.625'' as folded. Split along folds, else very good to near fine condition.
