Sterling Silver Dewar's Cup awarded to tennis legend Arthur Ashe in 1975 in London, England. Ashe was on fire this year, winning Wimbledon as the first African American in history, as well as winning the World Champion Tennis final. The Dewar's cup became one of the first major ''Open'' tennis events in the UK for both top male and female players. The sterling silver trophy is engraved on the basin: ''The Dewar's Cup Presented to / Arthur Ashe / For His Outstanding Contribution to Tennis / 1975''. ''Vatherston London'' is engraved on the bottom, as the maker of the trophy. Measures 10.5'' x 11.5'' with minor scuffing and tarnish to silver, though can be polished. Very good. With an LOA from Ashe's widow.
