Arthur Ashe University of Hartford honorary degree. Diploma was conferred upon Ashe on 23 January 1990 at the opening of the university's new state of the art sports center. Citation enumerates Ashe's accomplishments in tennis, literature and charity. Fine citation and diploma measure 12'' x 9.25'' and come housed in a black faux-leather cover with gilt insignia to an overall size of 12.75'' x 9.75''. Small abrasion to the right edge of the cover, else fine.
