Charming sketch of cartoon character ''Woody Woodpecker'' illustrated and signed by his creator, Walter Lantz. In this sketch of Woody as a enthusiastic hula dancer, Lantz's autograph appears twice, once below the character, ''1978 Walter Lantz'' and again on the frame's paper backing, ''To Pestana / with best wishes / Walter Lantz / May 16 1978''. Lantz's most beloved creation is sketched in ink on 8.25'' x 11.25'' illustration board, matted and framed to 16.5'' x 19.5''. Near fine.
