President Dwight Eisenhower signs a judicial nomination, dated 20 January 1959. He nominates Herbert S. Boreman to be a judge for the Fourth Circuit and signs, ''Dwight D. Eisenhower''. Boreman's nomination was accepted by the Senate and he was confirmed, serving on the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit until 1982.
