Garth Williams initialed sketches for the ''Little House on the Prairie'' series of children's books. Williams illustrated the 1953 edition of the series originally published in the 1930's and 1940's. He visited the places where the family lived before beginning his simple pencil, charcoal and ink drawings. Each of the two print proofs on this 6'' x 7.25'' sheet are initialed in ink by Williams, and are the same size as they appear in the book. Williams has also penciled ''3.05160'' on the verso. Small tear to top edge, else near fine.
