King became the U.S. Navy's second most senior officer and the second admiral to be promoted to five star rank during the war. Ornate 3.5'' bullion Naval Aviator wing resembles a kind of patch that could be sewn on King's uniform. Also includes a 3'' x 5'' typed signed card reading in full: ''Army & Navy Relief Fund Auction / Item; Navy Pilots Bullion Wings / Control Number 201 / Donated By: Flt. Adm.
