The famous General writes, ''To: my young friend / John Hamilton / for his birthday on the 6th december 1961. With my very best wishes. Montgomery of Alamein / F.M.'' on the front free endpaper. The edition runs 358pp. and is published by Oxford University Press: London: 1960. Book, measuring, 7.5'' x 5'' is in very good condition. An unusually signed item by Montgomery.
