Monica Lewinsky owned items, examined as potential evidence by Kenneth Starr's team in one of the most controversial presidential scandals of the 20th century. Lot comprises materials Lewinsky gave to her former lover Andy Bleiler and his wife during the early 1990's, including her personally-owned black negligee, a Bill Clinton typed letter signed on White House stationery, addressed to Mr. Bleiler per Lewinsky's request, and a handful of official White House issued items. Extensive 32-piece lot contains (1) Bill Clinton typed letter signed as president, ''Bill Clinton'' on White House stationery. Dated 20 February 1996, single-page letter to Lewinsky's lover Andy Bleiler reads in full, ''Dear Andy: Hillary and I want to personally extend our warmest wishes to you as you gather with your family and friends to celebrate your birthday. As you look forward to the year ahead, please accept our best wishes for good health and much happiness. Happy Birthday!'' Measures 6.75'' x 8.75''. Near fine. (2-12) eleven greeting cards sent and signed ''Monica'', ''Monka'' or curiously ''Monstreeka'' by Lewinsky to the Bleilers; some with printed messages and others with handwritten letters, including one that reads, in part, ''...you'll find the pix of Senator Dole's backyard...'' In another letter regarding the Bleiers' move to Oregon where Monica had moved to attend school, she writes, ''...Soon you, too, shall have a license plate with a tree on it!'' She adds an inscription to a Valentine's Day card, ''Dear Andy, Happy Valentine's Day! I hope this day is filled with lots of love, hugs, n' kisses!!! I miss you! xoxoxo Monica''. In another, she writes, ''...I thought [enclosed ring] might fit a manly man like you (am I good at lying through my teeth or what...you a 'manly man' - ha-ha)!...Here's a picture of me for...the shrine you guys are building for me in honor of my absence...'' (13) an 8'' x 10'' color photo of Clinton signed in autopen; (14) an 8'' x 10'' photo of President and Mrs. Clinton signed by both in autopen; (15) snapshot photo of Lewinsky's graduation signed ''ME!'' by her with an arrow drawn to her face in the crowd of graduates. Signed items are near fine. In addition, lot includes 8 pieces of clothing Lewinsky gifted from her personal wardrobe to Kate Bleiler: (16) sheer black floor-length negligee by City Culture brand in size 1x-2x; (17) black jacket with beige embroidery by Opera brand in size L; (18) navy blue velour DKNY hooded jacket in size L; (19) navy blue DKNY pants in size 12; (20) green silk blouse by Kikit in size XL; (21) blue denim jacket by American Rag in size 44 (US size 14); (22) plum blazer by David Dart in size L; (23) light yellow linen jacket by Ann Taylor in size L. Clothing is wrinkled, else near fine. Lot also includes official White House issued items: (24) book of White House matches; (25) sealed box of presidential Whitman's chocolates, measuring 3.5'' x 2.75'' x 1''; (26-28) three sealed and slightly crushed boxes of presidential M&Ms, measuring 2'' x 3.75'' x 0.75'' (29-32) four 9pp. programs titled ''Holidays at the White House 1995'', measuring 7'' x 10.75''. White House items are very good to near fine. With provenance from Kate Nason, formerly Mrs. Andy Bleiler. Lot also includes copies of newspaper articles about the Bleilers' involvement with Lewinsky and their interviews with Kenneth Starr's legal team, who examined each of the items in this lot as evidence in their impeachment case against Bill Clinton.
