Handsome framed display of George Washington items, including his cut signature, a piece of his red coat, and a lock of his hair. The partial document, with Washington's signature, was originally part of a large 17 March 1769 indenture, in which Washington leased 150 acres of land to Robert Thompson. Signature reads ''George Washington'', with additional handwritten words on the fragment, also penned by Washington. Also framed is a piece of Washington's cloak, about the size of penny, from the family of Colonel Tobias Lear, George Washington's personal secretary. The lock of six strands of Washington’s hair is from the Custis-Powell family, originally gifted by Martha Custis Washington who often gave her husband's hair both during his life and after his death. With a COA from autograph pioneer Charles Hamilton. Framed along with a portrait of Washington to a size of 14.75'' x 15.25''. Cut signature is heavily toned, else very good.
