Photo album containing images of Hiroshima, Japan in the decade following its bombing. Photographs portray a view of Mount Fuji, Hiroshima locals, the garden of the Emperor's Palace, Nijo Castle in Kyoto, ''mixed blood orphans'', American soldiers and their families and images of WWII figures, captioned ''1st party ever held for Japanese + American sailors / Rev. Kaslen & Lieut. Uchiyama (Head of Intelligence Japanese Fleet)'' and ''Captain [Mitsuo] Fuchida at Christian Servicemens' Center (Led attack on Pearl Harbor - later became Christian leader)''. Album contains 70 photographs, all black and white except for a few color images, ranging in size from 2.5'' x 3.5'' to 7.75'' x 5.75''. Mounted to the pages of an album measuring 7.75'' x 9.5''. Pages have been hand-dated 1955. Some photos have detached from pages, overall very good condition.
