Dwight D. Eisenhower typed letter signed as President, dated 5 October 1960 on White House stationery. Here, Eisenhower writes to his brother, Edgar: "…people…seem to want to shift responsibility, both for their own individual problems and public activities, to the shoulders of someone else…We beat plaintively about freedom -- yet only 60 per cent of the eligible voters in the United States actually voted in 1956…" Signed "Ike", letter measures 7" x 10.25" on two pages, with two holes punched and staple holes at top. Near fine.
