Daniel Webster autograph letter signed, dated only "Aug. 4. P.M." He writes, "Dear Sir, I seem to be a predestined blunderer -- Writing 5 or 6 letters, this morn, I must have put the check in the wrong one. I now enclose a check for $250." Signed "D. Webster". Webster represented both New Hampshire and Massachusetts in Congress as well as serving as Secretary of State under two Presidents. The 4.5" x 7.25" letter, mounted on a board, shows toning and faint creasing. Very good condition.
