Moses Hazen, General of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, autograph letter signed dated 14 December 1784. The General writes to a William Dunlight, ''I am informed by the bearer of this that Mr. McCauly who had a credit on you is gone to England. I have Drawn on you in favour of the bearer Mr. James Glenny for one hundred and Twelve dollars in Specie which I beg you will pay on sight...Moses Hazen''. Hazen was well known for his involvement in litigation, constantly petitioning Congress for compensation of losses. The 5.75'' x 7.25'' toned letter is silked to an overall size of 8'' x 10''. Overall very good.
