Theodore ''Dutch'' Van Kirk lengthy notation upon a photograph of the Enola Gay. Van Kirk writes in blue marker at the top: ''The first atomic bomb was dropped from 30,600 ft. It exploded 43 seconds later, about 1800 feet above the ground. The city of Hiroshima was devastated, but millions of lives - both Allied and Japanese were saved. Days later the war ended and the killing stopped. Dutch Van Kirk / Navigator - Enola Gay / Hiroshima - 6 Aug. 1945''. Colorful 10'' x 8'' satin-finish photo is in fine condition.
