James Dean signed agreement with Warner Bros., agreeing to repay an advance on his salary of $700 from ''East of Eden''. Dated 30 April 1954, letter reads in part, ''Dear Mr. Dean: You have requested that we advance you the sum of Seven Hundred Dollars ($700) as an accommodation to you in order that you may take care of certain personal matters...'' Signed at the conclusion by Dean (''James Dean'') in blue ballpoint. Two page letter on two separate sheets measures 8.5'' x 11''. Light creasing, overall in very good plus condition.
