Set of two letters and three agreements regarding Rogers Brackett's legal pursuit of money that he claimed James Dean owed him. Set of two letters from attorney Ted Kupferman (a former studio lawyer who seemed to act as a go-between for Brackett's lawyer and Dean's agent, Jane Deacy) are both dated 7 March 1955, each ''Re: Brackett v. Dean''. Kupferman asks Deacy to ''have Jimmy...sign the 3 copies of the short form [agreement]...'' These three unsigned copies are included in the lot. The agreement binds Dean to paying Brackett $100 per week until $800 total is paid. An erstwhile companion of Dean's, Brackett sued Dean for old hotel bills and small loans once Dean secured the role in ''East of Eden'', potentially embarrassing the new star. Each page measures 8.5'' x 11''. Folds, overall near fine condition. From the estate of James Dean's agent, Jane Deacy.
