Correspondence between James Dean's agent Jane Deacy and PR outfit The Arthur P. Jacobs Co. regarding PR services for Dean shortly after he became famous. Lot includes letter from Jacobs' office, ''concerning the possibility of this office representing James Dean.'' Also includes retained copy of the letter from Deacy, dated 16 May 1955 while Dean was filming ''Rebel Without a Cause''. Deacy declines the PR services, writing, ''...at this particular time Mr. Dean is not interested in having an agent for publicity.'' Both letters measure 8.5'' x 11'', stapled at top left. Toning and chipping to Deacy letter, overall very good. From the estate of James Dean's agent, Jane Deacy.
