Letter to Jane Deacy from Coulter and Gray, James Dean's business managers before his death. Dated 17 October 1955, approximately two weeks before Dean passed away, letter reads in part, ''We are writing to Lane and Winard, attorneys instructing them to pack Jimmy's personal possessions and ship them to his father here in Los Angeles...possession of the apartment which Jimmy rented at 19 West 68th Street will be surrendered...Would you be kind enough to have your secretary prepare a Change of Address notice for the Post Office...Do you have any idea who has a key to the mail box at Jimmy's apartment? Your letter stated there was mail in the box...'' Carl Coulter then asks Deacy about payments to Margulies & Heit, the law firm representing Rogers Brackett in his lawsuit against James Dean. Two page letter on two sheets measures 7.25'' x 10.5''. Near fine condition. From the estate of James Dean's agent, Jane Deacy.
