Letter from James Dean's father, Winton Dean, to Jane Deacy dated 26 January 1956, approximately four months after Dean's death. Letter is a draft agreement for James Dean's life rights, ''to keep alive the memory of James Dean...'' Two page letter on two separate sheets covers all aspects of the agreement, giving Deacy exclusive right to use Dean's ''name, portrait and picture'' with any profits from such use split equally between him and Deacy. Letter measures 8.5'' x 11'', stapled at top left. Light creasing, overall near fine. From the estate of James Dean's agent, Jane Deacy.
