First edition of "Pictures from Italy", Charles Dickens' collection of "traveling letters" from early 1846, the second of his travelogues. London: Bradbury and Evans for the Author, 1846. In original publisher's blue blind-stamped boards with gilt lettering to spine, copy includes all first edition points outlined by Eckel, including two pages of advertisements at front and back, woodcut illustrations by Samuel Palmer and pale yellow endpapers. Measures 4.625" x 7.125" and runs 270pp. with last page unnumbered. Some shelf wear and leaning, with separation starting to front hinge. Previous owner's signature to half-title page.
