Prince Charles and Princess Diana typed letter signed, dated 7 October 1981 on Buckingham Palace embossed stationery. The newly married royals send thanks for ''the wedding present which the Duchy has given us.'' The letter continues, ''We really are delighted with the mahogany library table which will look splendid in our home at Highgrove...We were also most touched to receive the balance of the gift in the form of a cheque with which we shall probably buy some more furniture...'' Signed by Charles in black felt-tip, and Diana in blue felt-tip, who writes, ''Yours most sincerely, and Diana.'' Single page letter measures 8'' x 13''. Folds and minor foxing, else near fine. Accompanied by original Buckingham Palace envelope.
