Invitation to the investiture, where Roberts took the Judicial Oath, reads in part, ''...The Supreme Court of the United States cordially invite you to a special sitting of the Court at which The Honorable John G. Roberts, Jr. will take the oath of office as Chief Justice of the United States...'' Both invitations feature an embossed gilt Supreme Court seal at top. Cards measure 5.875'' x 4.5'', with original Supreme Court envelope included. Near fine condition.
