Partially printed document appoints Samuel Baker as Second Lieutenant to the ''Berkshire Boys'', the 2nd Massachusetts Berkshire County Regiment. Signed ''John Hancock'' with his usual flourish and paraph. With intact paper seal at upper left. Document measures approximately 11'' x 12'' partially affixed to rag paper. Separated along fold lines affecting ''J'' in signature and small amount of paper loss, though largely intact. Overall in fair condition.
