Jean-Michel Basquiat signed and numbered first limited edition of ''Edition Bischofberger'', penned in blue ink opposite a photograph of the young artist taken by Jeannette Montgomery. Book features 12 full-page color plates (including a tri-foldout) of Basquiat's artwork for an exhibition by the Bischofberger Gallery from 19 January to 16 February 1985, extremely rare as signed. Even though Basquiat numbered this book #71 in a limited edition of 1,000, it's believed that the number of signed copies are far fewer, and rarely appear on the market. Zurich: Edition Gallery Bruno Bischofberger, 1985. Bound in publisher's red cloth boards with titling on spine, and housed in illustrated dust jacket. Large first edition limited to only 1,000 copies measures 10.375'' x 12''. Well preserved in near fine condition.
