Very rare document containing the signatures of both Roald Amundsen - the first man to reach the South Pole, and Robert Peary - who died trying to become the first man to reach the North Pole. Composed on Eagle Island stationery, Peary pens an autograph letter signed on 27 June 1915 to Vincent S. Stevens of Akron, Ohio, thanking him for hospitality received while in Akron. Letter spans two pages on two separate sheets. At the bottom of the second sheet, Amundsen also signs his full name, additionally writing ''Akron, O / March 12th 1925''. Amundsen likely signed the document in his 1924-25 tour of America to raise funds for his North Pole expedition, which commenced in May 1925. Two page document penned by both men in fountain pen measures 8'' x 10.5''. Folds and minor paper loss from the pen indentation, else near fine condition. Likely one of the only extant documents signed by both legendary Polar explorers, Amundsen and Peary.
