Superb Disney production drawing by Ub Iwerks of Mickey Mouse in his 1928 film debut, ''Steamboat Willie'', also the first animated film to feature synchronized sound. Rendered in graphite on 2-peg animation paper, Mickey Mouse here plays percussion on a bull's mouth, appearing near the 6:30 minute mark. With ''F285'' and ''289'' at lower right, sheet measures approximately 12'' x 9.5''. Double-matted and framed to a size of 19'' x 17''. Not examined out of frame but appears near fine. A rare production drawing from the animated film that started it all.
