Original Edward Gorey pen and ink artwork for ''Leaves from a Mislaid Album'', published in a limited edition of 500 by Gotham Book Mart in 1972 and comprised of 17 loose cards with no captions or context to the images. Signed ''Edward Gorey'' at lower right. Artwork features a slender semi-nude woman in the Gorey style resting her hand on a finial at the top of a staircase. Measures 4.375'' x 6.75'', beautifully framed against purple silk matting to a size of 9.75'' x 12.75''. Very faint foxing, overall near fine condition. Accompanied by original 1972 sales paperwork from the famed Serendipity Books of Berkeley, California.
