21st President of the United States, Chester A. Arthur signed vintage photo. President Arthur inscribes on the verso, "Very faithfully yours C. A. Arthur Nov. 5 1881. For Mr. Edward W. Bok". Arthur writes as President, a post he assumed following the assassination of President James Garfield in 1881. Matte sepia cabinet photo by photographer Abraham Bogardus measures 6.5" x 4.25". Gilt edged card has slight soiling on verso else near fine condition.
