Coffee mug for ''The Alamo'' (United Artists, 1960), starring and also directed by John Wayne. Beginning in the early 1950s, Wayne famously gave custom-made coffee mugs to the cast and crew of his movies, each personalized for the recipient and featuring the signature gold handle. Designed by Bob Williams, this mug reads ''John From Duke'' on one side and ''The Alamo'' on the other, with a depiction of the Texas mission. This particular mug is said to be John Wayne's favorite design. Measures 4'' tall and 3.25'' wide, not including handle. Near fine condition with no rubbing to gold handle.
