Pen used by President Harry Truman on 7 August 1946 to sign H.R. 6900 into law, which increased the pension benefits of veterans serving in the Spanish-American War and in other military hostilities. Pen is accompanied by a letter on White House stationery from Truman's secretary Matthew J. Connelly to W.M. Floyd, National Commander of the Regular Veterans Association, with details regarding the pen's use. Triumph 1331 pen by E. Faber has a wooden handle with "444" on nib, matching other examples of Truman bill-signing pens from 1946. Pen measures approximately 7 cm. excluding nib, framed in a shadow box measuring 10" x 13". Light toning to letter, overall very good to near fine.
