First edition, first printing of ''Gone With the Wind'' by Margaret Mitchell, housed in the very rare first printing dust jacket. New York: The MacMillan Co., 1936, with ''Published May, 1936'' on the copyright page identifying the first printing. Jacket shows price of $3.00 and with ''Gone With the Wind'' in the right column, as called for, without any reviews of the book. Jacket is chipped along folds, with heavy toning and tape repair, but with no significant loss of paper; in fair to good condition. Book is bound in grey cloth boards measuring 6'' x 8.75'' and spans 1,037pp. Small closed tear to front free endpaper and half-title page, otherwise near fine condition. A superb example of this classic novel.
