Slave Receipt From 1826 -- Disturbing Bill of Sale Documents the Purchase of a Negro Boy Named Billy

Slavery bill of sale for a boy purchased on 24 July 1826. Disturbing receipt reads, ''Received of Mr. Henry Gulphin two hundred dollars for a negro boy Billy which by I warrant free from the claim or claims of any other person whatever. / Ch. J. Palmer / July 24th 1826''. With verso notated, ''Bill of sale for Bill''. Document measures approximately 7.625'' x 3'', with torn lower edge. Folds and light toning, very good condition.
